<p><b>L'église paroissiale :</b></p>
<p>Elle est dédiée à la Vierge. C'est un bel édifice roman du XIIe siècle, avec un chevet trifolié (une abside accompagnée de deux absidioles qui forment les extrémités du transept). On remarque surtout le superbe portail de marbre gris dont l'archivolte repose sur deux chapiteaux historiés, décorés avec des griffons et des lions, que l'on attribue au maître de Serrabona.</p>
<p>A l'intérieur, on notera surtout une Vierge du XIVe siècle, d'inspiration romane, et plusieurs toiles du XVIIe siècle. La sacristie abrite deux panneaux peints du XVIe siècle. Est également originaire de Brouilla un encrier mozarabe du XIe siècle ayant servi de boîte à reliques.</p>
<p>Cet encrier d'origine tolédane, en laiton repoussé et ciselé, avait servi à Brouilla de lipsanothèque (boîte à reliques que l'on plaçait généralement sous la table d'autel). C'est un récipient prismatique octogonal, à col cylindrique, muni d'un couvercle à bélière relié au col par une chaînette et une autre bélière.. Deux autres bélières, à la base du col, servaient probablement à l'attache des plumes. L'encrier porte une inscription en caractères koufiques, qui se développe à la verticale sur chacune des huit faces, agrémentée de motifs décoratifs : colombes et motifs graphiques divers.</p>
<p>Cette inscription est une dédicace poétique adressée par l'artisan auteur de la pièce au juge auquel elle était destinée. Elle a été traduite par Ocana Jimenez, qui précise qu'elle appartiendrait au koufique tolédan du XIe siècle. En voici le contenu :</p>
<p>"Parmi les joyaux des ouvrages manuels, je suis pour les rois une magie permise. Je suis une des belles créations d'Ibn Birzâl. Considère généreusement et admire un artiste itinérant. Encrier du juge Ibn-al-Faray, que coule en lui un liquide abondant ! "</p>
<p>Des récipients de nature très diverse, parfois choisis pour leur caractère précieux, ont souvent été utilisés comme lipsanothèques. Rien ne permet de dire si ceux qui ont une origine islamique ont fait partie de quelque butin de guerre ou sont parvenus dans la région par des voies commerciales normales. La forme de l'encrier remonte pour sa part à un modèle connu depuis depuis le IIe et le IIIe siècles.</p>
