<li>If it doesn't violate any French copyright laws, can a picture of Steeve Estatof and his album <i>À L’Envers</i> be uploaded on the French and English Wikipedias? I am working on an article about him on the English Wikipedia and would like to use them to expand the article further. I'm pretty sure they would also be useful on the French Wikipedia too.</li>
<li>Are there any good methods to achieve fluency in a foreign language? I don't know what methods of study work best and I need to learn French so I can work on this Wikipedia (obviously <a href="../../../../articles/f/a/c/Image%7EFace-smile.svg_4df2.html" class="image" title="Sourire"><img alt="Sourire" src="../../../../images/shared/thumb/7/79/Face-smile.svg/20px-Face-smile.svg.png" width="20" height="20" border="0" /></a>).</li>

<dd>En fait, la seule raison que ça ne fasse pas de sens est si on considère que la France est le centre monopolistique de la langue française. Le reste, c'est des opinions. L'idée qu'un terme soit de facto "correct" du seul fait qu'il est utilisé "par plus de gens" est très discutable. C'est là que se trouve la différence entre une référence "encyclopédique" et une référence dite "d'usage". La seule raison pourquoi je n'ai pas TOUT changé est que ça aurait modifié le contenu des liens présents, ce qui aurait induit l'usager en erreur. Bref, "la langue française" (futsugo) ne signifie pas "la langue parlée en France" (furansugo). Le dernier fait partie du premier, mais non l'inverse. <li>le <i>kanji</i> <span class="lang-ja" lang="ja" xml:lang="ja">仏</span> fait de toutes façons référence à la France : <span class="lang-ja" lang="ja" xml:lang="ja">佛欄西</span>, le premier caractère s'étant simplifié après la Seconde Guerre mondiale en <span class="lang-ja" lang="ja" xml:lang="ja">仏</span>. <span class="lang-ja" lang="ja" xml:lang="ja">仏語</span> signifie bien « la langue de la France ») et ceci met vraiment à mal ton explication « <i>"la langue française" (futsugo) ne signifie pas "la langue parlée en France" (furansugo)</i> » qui pêche par un manque d'approfondissement ;</li>
<li>enfin, <span class="lang-ja" lang="ja" xml:lang="ja">仏語</span> n'a pas le sens unique de « français » mais aussi de « terme bouddhique » et que son utilisation risque donc parfois d'être ambiguë. <dd>Maintenant, je suis désolé, mais la référence encyclopédique ne doit se détacher de la référence d'usage que s'il y a lieu. Quand les Japonais veulent vraiment faire la distinction entre les variantes du français, ils le précisent (ex : <span class="lang-ja" lang="ja" xml:lang="ja">カナダフランス語</span>, ). D'ailleurs le Brésil a beau être le premier pays parlant portugais, on dit quand même <span class="lang-ja" lang="ja" xml:lang="ja">ポルトガル語</span> pour parler de la langue portugaise, quitte à préciser <span class="lang-ja" lang="ja" xml:lang="ja">ブラジルポルトガル語</span> si le contexte l'impose. Il n'y a pas en japonais de terme signifiant « langue française » qui soit complètement détaché de la France, et note au passage que c'est également le cas en français : on a beau parler de « francophonie », « langue française », etc. toutes ces expressions utilisent bien la même racine que le mot « France ». Sinon, je sais qu'il existe bien des termes qui signifient « langue standard » dans le sens d'« académique », mais il faudra de toutes façons le combiner avec l'expression <span class="lang-ja" lang="ja" xml:lang="ja">フランス語</span>. <p>Ma contribution: 仏語 n'est pas plus sérieux. Il s'agit d'une simple abréviation utilisée dans les dicos, les noms d'institution en lien avec la France etc.. Par exemple 日仏 signifie franco-japonais, comme dans institut franco-japonais. Donc la formulation juste du terme langue française reste bien フランス語, et il n'y a pas lieu de le modifier.</p>

I have some doubts here because the birth place Gordon-en-Rouergue (around 1258) isn't mentioned in any Wikipédia at all. Il suffit de mettre dans la page un lien vers celles que tu veux insérer pour qu'elles s'affichent. Si tu as du mal à paramétrer, regarde dans une autre page comment sont insérées les photos, ou demande de l'aide à quelqu'un. The information, for which I have to rely on my memory as I can no longer recover the source, is that it was a fairly sizeable phallic symbol that had been used to mark an ancient Greek brothel.</p>

When the stone of Terpon was made, it was already the use to represent the god with a "real statue" placed close to the stone, or to replace the stone with a statue. It's pure speculation from my humble self, but perhaps a statue was there and was stolen or destroyed, while the stone was simply discarded. But I was not there to watch the digging back in 1866, and the archeologist of this time didn't bother much about the context of what they found.</dd>

<p>On the other hand, EN does this: Junichiro Koizumi (小泉 純一郎, Koizumi Jun'ichirō - EN keeps the Japanese characters in the native order AND gives a Hepburn transliteration of the said Japanese characters.</p>
<p>The FR practice is almost never done, and Kanji is always correctly displayed family name first.</p>
<p>I previously made this point on the French language Bistro, but the discussion never went anywhere. I want to try again and have a definitive conclusion for the proposal (Approve or Disapprove) - Should someone translate this into French and post this on the French bistro page? Therefore the Japanese text should be presented in the order used in Japan. This order differs from the order used in Western languages, but this can be explained with a footnote. I am aware that the current format uses a footnote to explain why the kanji are reversed, but this format is pointless because the "switched kanji format" is never used in the real world. "Junichiro Koizumi" is often seen in the real world, but "純一郎 小泉" is not.</p>

<p>One could take the French template and add a comma in between the kanji like this (純一郎, 小泉) - It disrupts the flow of the kanji and it reminds the person that the name is likely not in its native order and not as usually presented. There are no [Aide:Lien inter-langue|interlanguage links / liens inter-langues] (ILLs) pointing to it.</p>
<p>I know the ILL system is currently only used for links between official Wikipedias. But think Vikidia is the closest thing to a Simple French Wikipedia that will ever be created: now that it exists, nobody will start a Simple French Wikipedia; if they say they want to start one, as <a href="http://simple.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Wikipedia_talk:How_to_write_Simple_English_articles&oldid=743574#A_Small_Reformat_of_Simple_English_Wikipedia..." class="external text" title="http://simple.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Wikipedia_talk:How_to_write_Simple_English_articles&oldid=743574#A_Small_Reformat_of_Simple_English_Wikipedia..." rel="nofollow">some</a> people <a href="http://requests.wikia.com/wiki/Fr.Frsimple" class="external text" title="http://requests.wikia.com/wiki/Fr.Frsimple" rel="nofollow">have</a>, it's probably because they don't know that Vikidia exists.</p>

Donc, les gens d'autres langues écrivent aussi en anglais, pas Français. Seulement dans Wikipedia il y a 3 ou 4 fois plus d'articles en anglais que Français. Donc l'Ordinateur et Internet donnent aux gens plus de chances d'exercer leurs Anglais que leurs Français. Donc, si vous aviez quelque chose pour dire au monde quoi langue est-ce que vous choisiriez?. Est-ce que vous gaspilleriez votre temps en français?. Je l'ai fait. J'ai écrit ceci [en:Political power, about the emotional basis of] aussi en français, et il a été effacé immédiatement. Il est marqué pour suppression en anglais ("recherche originale"), il sera effacé en 3 jours, mais n'a jamais existé en français. De toute façon, j'ai placé une objection parce que je pense que le sujet est assez important pour mériter une exception. De quoi s'agis il?. Bien, est-ce que quelqu'un a lu "Dialogue aux enfers entre Machiavel et Montesquieu" (1864) du français Maurice Joly ou "Surveiller et Punir" (1975) du français Michel Foucault?. S'agis de cela, plus ou moins.<br />
Tout le monde peut noter que mon Français n'est pas parfait, mais non plus est si horrible. Ma langue natal est Espagnole. Est-ce que vous avez jamais essayé d'écrire dans une langue étrangère?. Est-ce que vous pourriez écrire en espagnol mieux que j'en français?. Mais, si seulement une personne le trouve valable et promet donner seulement une heure pour polir l'article, je pourrais ré-publier le, je pourrais donner aux Français autre chance. Je ne toucherai pas encore l'article, je ne déferai pas aucun changement. Cette offre expire en 24 heures. À propos. est-ce que quelqu'un connaît un bon site web pour écrire en français?.<br />
Autrement, peut-être ce devrait être ainsi. Tout est comme doit être. Peut-être tout le monde terminera parlant anglais, si c'est notre destin. Le français est encore une langue vivante. Chaque chose vivante a besoin d'intelligence pour survivre, parce que l'intelligence est la capacité d'adaptation aux changements. Peut-être que quelque chose pas assez intelligent ne mérite pas survivre. Peut-être que l'adaptation pourrait vouloir dire ré-écrire ou corriger un article imparfait au lieu d'effacer-le. Mais cela exige beaucoup de travail, donc peut être qu'il soit plus facile effacer l'article simplement, peut-être que essayer de sauver au Français ne vaut pas la peine.<br />

<p>How many of you use the French Wikipedia to brush up on that high school French, but need to constantly lookup French words for English meanings. The Google translation toolbar only translates from English to French, not from French to English. (Their whole web page translation is not what I want, I want to read the French).</p>
<p>I have prepared a webpage portal that allows the French Wikipedia to be viewed. From there, a right click on a word in the fr.wikipedia.org will pop up the English meaning. The portal with explanation of how to use it is at:</p>
